This bondage blog helps those who need help. Mz Berlin was outed by a “liberal” newspaper in San Francisco, and now has legal issues regarding visitation rights with her son. She does nothing illegal. She works honestly, and legally, and her ex husband is taking her to court, in order to take away her right to see her son. The reason? The work she does, and the fact that she was outed by an asshole reporter, whose idea of feminism is more along the 1980’s Dworkin “all sex with men is rape” and “all women who say they are in porn voluntarily are brainwashed”. In other words, he’s a dogmatic extremist who Knows Better by virtue of moral superiority. What follows is Mz Berlin’s own appeal for help. If you can, help her. This is real, and it’s important. Hello. My name is M. Most of you know me as The Fabulous Mz Berlin, but that’s not entirely who I am. I am also a daughter, a sister, a friend and a mother. This is probably the first time you’ve heard me mention my son. I like to keep private things private, and because he is a minor, and because what I do for a living, while not illegal, is not looked upon fondly in my hometown, where he currently resides.
Many of you who read my blog may be aware of my “outing” by Matt Smith. This has had several consequences that I couldn’t have foreseen at the time, including my former husband deciding to withdraw visitation with my child unless he (the ex) is present. I had several plans with my child this summer, including a 2 week road trip to a family reunion in Indiana, as well as a trip to California. The 2 week trip has been cut down to 4 days so my ex could accompany him to the family reunion. This was not needed or warranted, but because we have always been amicable, an interstate child custody and visitation agreement has never been drawn up.
Our conversations since the SF Weekly incident have become increasingly frustrating and it looks like the chances of me seeing my son on a regular basis are dwindling. He is basing his stance on the potential danger that the SF Weekly article may have on me, as well as my chosen career.
After our last conversation I decided that it would be in my child’s’ best interest to have an interstate child custody and visitation agreement drawn up. I have spoken to a lawyer and while the fees are a bit beyond my budget, they are not astronomical. If this case goes into litigation, they could become astronomical, but I’m hoping that this can be resolved with mediation.
In addition to the SF Weekly affecting my child visitation in the immediate and foreseeable future, it has also greatly affected my income. While dealing with the custody issue (as well as the SF Weekly issue) I have been too anxious and focused on fixing that to work, not to mention the fact that my ex-husband has been using that as emotional leverage. I realized yesterday after speaking to a lawyer, that I don’t have to be afraid to work, but I think it would be best for me to perhaps work on my own productions until this has cleared. My anxiety is at an all time high because I feel like I’m on red alert with my son.
Right now it looks like the lawyer fees are going to run between 700 and 1500, as well as airfare and accommodations when I have to appear in court. I can assure you that once I get back to work I will donate the same amount to both local and national organizations, including the NCSF, the ACLU and The Los Angeles Mission. I hate to ask for this kind of assistance and now wish that I would have avoided it by preparing for a worst case scenario instead of a best case scenario in my custody agreement.
As an aside, I have never used my paypal account and just recently set it up, so there would be no confusion about what funds go where.

6.12.09 - Since talking to Marky D. Sade about this this morning, writing my entry, signing up for paypal and sending out Twitters and emails, I’ve recieved so many words of encouragement and some donations. Thank you all so much. 6.16.09- Talked to ex, filled out some paperwork. Waiting on paperwork to get in from Louisiana so I have all of the information I need to file. My former husband believes that my occupation is a lifestyle and therefore I am not suitable to spend time unsupervised with him. He chose to change the Indiana Trip from a 2 week road trip to my son because he believes that my occupation puts my son at risk due to potential stalkers. It doesn’t make sense to me, and I’ve gotten a few notes asking for clarification. I will be paying the rest of my downpayment as soon as the paypal transfer is completed and feel very confident that my visitation today. Thank you for everyone who has been supportive.
